I worked late the night of the State of Union address but the other day I read that Obama said that "We can restore an economy where everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does thier fair share, and everyone plays by the same rules" I am nowhere near the top 1% but seems to me make those people pay and extremely higher % of taxes does nothing to make it fair for everyone...I really don't get the rational sorry

I can't stand it when someone whines or complains about their situation, yet gives every excuse in the book for not even attempting to better it. It's too hard! The economy sucks! Well DUH those are things you have to work around. I think some people just want to hear they're simply up shit creek and want a bail out. Or a knight on a white horse to save them.

I loose respect for anyone who voted for GW Bush twice and watched him run up the biggest debt this country has ever had, destroyed a surplus and wretched the economy, yet these same people are now budget/economic experts when it comes to Obama, yes DH i'm talking about you. I'm voting for Obama again give the guy a chance you gave Bush 8 years to wreak the car give Obama 8 to fix crap Bush created.

Call me crazy, but I thought being frugal and living below your means were admirable traits, especially in an economy where you never know what's going to happen next. Gas prices could go up to $20 a gallon tomorrow; you never know.

What truelly pisses me off is that my LIB of 3 yrs wont let me pay for anything! The economy has us both umemployed and its been a struggle. recently ive been babysitting two days a week which is great pocket money but he wont take any of it for his phone bill or car insurance or student loans things we shouldnt get behind on. But still he refuses and i dont no how to make him understand that its our money and i can help pay too

i wonder if there is a connection between stress about money and the economy and family spats....you know, the more broke you are the less you can handle the Bs?

I work in retail because this fancy college degree means squat in this economy. I make $10/hr to manage employees and get screamed at by customers. I know I have to work holidays, and I'm okay with that, but it's okay to want something. I can't afford rent. IDC how it was when you were 18. Don't fucking tell me not to complain.

The only reason I feel sorry for people who choose to work in retail during Christmas and Thanksgiving is that customers are 100X nastier during the holidays. Other than that not so much. Even at 18 I knew working holidays were mandatory so I don't understand the whining or bitching about it. I needed the money so I did it. If you don't like it find another job. Economy rough? Too bad. That's life. You'll surviving and so will your family. Money pays the rent. Not hugs and cuddles so keep that in mind if you're bitching with your back to the wall.

DH and I spend around $100 on each other at Christmas. There is absolutely no reason to spend a lot more than that, especially with the economy being the way it is. If we want something more than what we receive, we can always go out and buy it ourselves later. We spend money on gifts for other people and I thought that was the norm. Apparently, I'm in the minority on this one.

I am tired of people who judge everyone else. My elderly parents do not understand this economy AT ALL. DH was laid off from his job. They are saying "he must have screwed up"
