CF bitch here who just had to deal with 30 kids for Take Your Brat to Work Day. After listening to the parents freak out that their kid was sensitive/had a food allergy/had ADHD, I'm more convinced now than ever that most of those labels are total bullshit. Many of those kids just need some damn discipline.

I am a very light smoker. I only ever smoke a few nights a week, out on my patio after my entire family has gone to sleep. I would never smoke in front of anyone. But damn, right now I think it would be fantastic to be able to light up right here in my home office like I used to do when I was young and lived alone. Oh well, Im disciplined now.

My step-mom was/is my step-MOM. Of course she disciplined me! Why the heck wouldn't she?

My step-mother did discipline me and I still loved her. Once I started loving her anyway. They started dating right after we moved across the country and my parents separated. Their wedding was right after the divorce was finalized less than a year later. So yeah, I was resentful of her for a while while I worked through the stresses. But once I realized my parents were both much happier away from each other and she was not a big meanie things were alright.

I'm not a step-mom, but I've had one since I was 12. She's absolutely wonderful. I think the key is that she never tried to discipline me, not even once, left all that to my dad. She was my friend, still is, 20 years later. Although their marriage has since crumbled, and I haven't spoken to my father in over a decade, we remain close, and I'm close with my half-siblings. I couldn't imagine not being friends with her.

My niece and nephew came over today. They're adorable, but they always manage to just about destroy the house because my sister doesn't really discipline them when they're here. I just spent about 20 minutes getting the remains of a votive candle out of my sink. This is part of why I don't have kids!

Yes, I lack the self discipline to watch what I eat and excersise regularly. Know what I have the self discipline for? I have the discipline to be an active and attentive parent. I have the discipline to run a clean and well organized and maintained home. I have the discipline to watch what I say to family and friends in order to keep my relationships strong. I have the discipline to work hard at a twenty year marriage. And before all of this I had the discipline to get a Master's degree and have a productive career. I'm sorry to annoy you with my lack of discipline regarding my weight.

I feel alone in this marriage. I love DH and we've had a good life{married 22 yrs}, two kids {18 and 8}, make a decent living. DH is a workaholic. He works full time and we own a small business that he runs in the evening. I help with the business, run the household, the kids, do the booking for business and personal, take care of the pets, discipline the kids. He's too tired to make love. If we do its because I initiate. We have no social life. No date nights. He says he's really happy in our marraige. I feel invisible.

I am working hard to be disciplined & pay off our last bit of debt. Every time I walk in a store I chant to myself, "Buy what you need, not what you want." So far it's working. I sure hope it becomes second nature soon!!

Sometimes there's just not enough hours in the day to be an awesome mom. Discipline-wise and entertainment-wise.
