One of my co-workers lives on site at the house I work at (I work at an adult family home). She spends all of her paychecks going shopping and never saves any of her paychecks. I can only wonder what would happen if her car broke down or our boss fired her.

I love my family. What I earn from this job feeds them and clothes them and pays the rent. So when I'm at work, it's "job first" all the way.

I'm a mother who works outside the home. I take my job seriously. But my kids come first. No exceptions. If they are sick or need me to miss work. I will do it. I don't make excuses for it. Your family should come first. I don't care what my single non-mom coworkers think. Wait til they have kids of their own. They will see where their priorities lie. And if they put their job before their kids - they are just wrong!

I like my coworkers, really. I have a blast with them during the work day. BUT, I do not want to hang out with them after work or on the weekends! I have friends and family for that! I have tried having friends from work over, and it always turns out the same way. We end up talking about work and other coworkers. I don't want that. I want to come home and forget about my job for a while. I want separation. After seeing them all day, 5 days a week - I want time with my real friends and family. Is that so wrong?

I wonder if I could find a job I actually like even possibly love and get paid well, in the field I love. Interior Design, specializing in Mid-Century Modern. I have the degree. There is plenty of design like that where I live. However, the job market is VERY tight right now. At least I have the ability to draw CAD drawings really well and an eye for design. Well something has got to change because I am absolutely miserable working with my family as CAD Drafter. I'm getting chair-ass and I'm bored out of my mind everyday. I also feel like I am in a prison cell. Here goes nothing!

Ya know, it's really sad when your coworkers and supervisors (and even people you work with who don't come into the office due to working offshore) are more excited and happy for you than your family is. This sucks. At least I know my coworkers appreciate me!

I am having a hard time concentrating and being cheerful at my customer service job while my family is flipping out. Ex husband and son both on drugs, smashing up their cars, getting arrested, calling me and telling me things in the middle of the night. My life is so hard right now I don't know what to do anymore.

Day off, mid week because of a death in the big bosses extended family? Heck Yes!

i'm usually one to take initiative, to go above and beyond, find new projects, etc., however, i completely resent that YOU, Mr. Manager, give me zero direction, input, or even a "hello" most days. from now on, i'm going to just chill out and do what i please and take the paycheck. all of that go-getter attitude is now refocused toward my family and my workouts.
