At one point in my life I wanted to be CF. We had an amazing life in San Francisco. Then we decided to have just one. Still had money, some freedom, etc... well, then we decided our only needed a sibling. Well, we now have three wonderfully amazing children. I love this life as much as I loved my CF days.

The puke & poop situation at my house is out of control. Multiplied by the fact it happened in bunk beds. I will admit though, when DH bought a super high end shower head, with a detachable head in the middle for the kid's bathroom I thought he was wasting money. Now I think he's a genius after three middle of the night showers...

I would love to adopt kids. We looked into it and it's so expensive! We can't afford it. We're a good family, both have jobs that require police checks (teacher and sports coach), have never had a run in with the law (or even a parking ticket) and have stable jobs and house. It will still take years and tens of thousands of dollars for us to adopt. Easier to do it the old-fashioned way and spend the money on the child's upbringing, but I still wish I could help one of those parentless babies out there :( No foster kids in my country. Sigh.

I know a little girl who LOVES music. She has been so interested in it since she was a year old. She is very 'advanced' musicly now that she is nearly 5. Her parents do NOT like her interest. I mentioned Fresh Beat Band coming to our area. "Oh. I don't want to waist the money what if she ist't interested by Dec." Poor kid. I really hope they don't squash her love, but they will try their hardest :(

I don't let my kids spend their birthday money on any ole junk that will get tossed in the corner. They have the option of saving it in the piggy bank or using it for useful things. This year DD picked out a towel, goggles, and swimsuit for summer. With the leftover she bought an ice cream.

I have no money for anything 'extra' and I work so hard. It's just frustrating.

A coworker of mine was diagnosed with cancer last year.I've participated on every fund raising activity for his treatment, gone to every mass although I'm not Christian, covered for him whenever possible. Then I discovered that he has been using the money for secret vacations, when he was supposed to be in the hospital, and making plenty more on the side with a sketchy non-profit he created. When he asked me again to cover and I declined,he got angry and told me he hopes I never find myself in his position. So do I.I hope to stay an honest person and never abuse other people's generosity.

I would love to own my own restaurant but have no resources or money. I hate it when I watch Restaurant Impossible and the people are saying they lost everything EVERYTHING! and then say they paid 500K or 2.5 Million for the place they are running into the ground. Doesn't look like you lost everything to me!

Being a mom myself has made me realize what a crappy mom MY mom was. My daughter's 9 - every night, I make sure she has a bath, homework done, clothes picked out for the next day. Small stuff like that. I realize now that I was on my freaking own way earlier than that. No one checked to make sure I was bathed, did my homework, etc. I wasn't beaten, we had plenty of money, that kind of stuff, but my mom just really didn't care about the day to day mom tasks.

DH and I have been offered our dream jobs. We have a DS who is 6 years old. Problem is, the new job is 2,000 miles away in California. We'd be making 3X as much money as we are now. We've always lived 2 or more hours away from home, but this is a plane ride away. My dad has cancer and is unemployed. My MIL is ill and is moving into a home. Do we leave our family for a better financial opportunity? Do we ask our parents to come with so we can help support them? Don't know what to do. But as parents, in this economy, it's hard to turn down a job that would make us a $300k income household.
