Q:MODS: When I read confessions on my phone; if I open comments in a confession and come back later, I can only see the comments that were there the first time . I've tried refreshing the browser and deleting all cookies. Help!!
A: Truu isn’t very mobile friendly right now. We’re working on improving that, but I’d recommend commenting from a desktop or laptop until we can figure out this glitch.
If anyone has discovered a way to make this work with their mobile, please share it with us.
Q:MODS: I was wondering if you guys ever make a confession on here? I assume of course that if you do make a confession, it is probably made anonymously?
A: I have a separate screen name. I don’t use it very often because I usually just post things to vent, and by the time I finish an update I’ve gotten a bit of perspective on the issue. Also, I never have time to go check the comments, so when I do vent I can’t get any constructive feedback until several updates later when everyone who did comment has already moved on.
Q:MODS: can we PLEASE stop this porn debate already?! It´s been going on for awhile now in the wife section, and it´s getting boring. Move it to the blog or something, only stop it now! Thanks.
A: Thankfully this died out on its own. I really really didn’t want to write a blog about porn.

Q:MODS there's a confession in the wife boards that says I hate cocoa pops so much. There's also been one on the mom boards that says they have. cocoapops for breakfast. I doubt cocoapop the user is thrilled about this somehow.
A: Yeah... you’re probably right, but there’s a chance it’s actually about the cereal, so I have to err on the side of the confession/user flagging. I can’t see what’s been flagged, but it’s still up, so enough people either didn’t catch it, or think it’s about the cereal didn’t object. Cocoa pops the user, I’m sorry either way. I can change your screen name if you’d like, just send me an email.
Q: I am getting REALLY tired of my confessions not being posted. Thanks a lot mods! I guess everyone is entitled to opinions, but only so long as they match yours. Bet this doesn't get through the screening process either.
A: No it won’t, because it’s a critique about the website that belongs here. Your posts probably didn’t get through because they asked for advice, responded to a confession, broke some other rule, or were about a topic that was moved to the blog for a few days. I’d say about ninety percent of the opinion confessions don’t match my opinion on any issue. I know this because my opinion on just about every issue is that people should mind their own business.
Q: I confess that half my confessions do not make it past the mods. My confessions are so intense they do not qualify. I also confess to that making me sad on so many levels.
A: Again, without more information I can’t give a definitive answer, but your use of intense makes me think you might be the person posting graphic accounts of your... activities. And those are against the rules.
Q:MODS-if I happen to make a confession, during the time you're doing an update-do you see it right away? or does it wait until the NEXT update before you're able to see it? kwim?
A: It depends, if you post it right after I finish the channel, it waits, if you post it while the back end is loading for me to read the confessions, it goes through.
Q:Mods, I made a confession last night about IQ and giftedness and it didn't go through, yet there are other more recent confessions about the same thing. I didn't break any rules nor was it a response post. It was a trend post, and I talked about my ex and his father and didn't refer to any other confession/user or ask a question. It sucks that so many "legal" confessions don't get posted. Even my last q to you about another one not being posted but others of the same topic were, "got lost" so couldn't be posted in the mods q&a. You're doing a piss poor job mods.
A: That trend was moved to the blog. I only found two confessions posted after yours that could possibly be considered to be in the same category. One was about a mother who thought her kid had mental issues and the test showed him as gifted (this didn’t really contribute to the trend. It wasn’t about gifted education, or school specifically), and the other was several days later about how a persons child isn’t gifted academically, just likable. Which again, was not a commentary on the amount of children testing gifted or the state of gifted education.
But you’re welcome to repost now. That debate has died down.
Q:mods: why are survey posts allowed? They aren't confessions.
A: I go back and forth on survey posts, but they do spark a lot of trends, so for the meantime I let them through.
Q:Mods isthere any plans for a truu app

Q:MODS- Did I miss some announcement about how you use IP addresses of users of this site? I see it referenced in the "ask a mod" blogs but can't find anything specific. Thanks!
A: There wasn’t a specific announcement, because it’s not new. Every website, even my little word press blog, has a way of tracking the IP address of the people on the site. We don’t do anything with that information, I wouldn’t even know WHAT to do with that information. But it does give our tech guy a way to ban people from the site who are say... posting death threats to the mods who didn’t let their sexist confession go through, or attacking other users anonymously.
Q:mods-i think this site would see a lot more "traffic" if there were more mods. Even 1 more mod would be helpful and i think a lot more beneficial to this site in the long run.
A: It really wouldn’t. When I started there were three mods and we had just about the same update schedule. I think there may have been two more updates on weekdays. Instead of a nine am I think there was a seven, and I think there was a nine pm as well.
But we also had more users complaining about how one mod let something through but another confession along the same lines got through because it was seen by a different mod. Of course no one considered it was a different mod reading the confession, we had SO many users convinced we’d picked favorites and would always let those posts through, when really those users probably visited the site around the same time of day and posted similar confession types and were seen by the same mod.
We also didn’t catch as many responses because we hadn’t read all the confessions of the day.
The only way more mods would be more effective is if one mod was on each channel, all day, which would cost a fortune, and would be really inefficient, and chances are, would have the same update schedule.
We’re working on a way to do updates faster, so I can do updates more frequently. Hopefully we’ll see some positive changes soon.
Q:mods: why can't there be more mods? People have volunteered to do it free - why not???
A: We don’t have a way to differentiate the back end, or do clearance levels. Volunteer mods would have access to your user name, your email address, your password, all your confessions, and your IP address. Most of the people who have volunteered to moderate for free are regular users. The mods don’t get much time to post confessions of our own, so we’d actually be decreasing the amount of content our site gets, plus regular users have made friends here, and they’ve made enemies. You know how everyone used to freak out and get really upset because they thought the mods had favorite confessors? We wouldn’t be able to say for sure that wasn’t true. Granted, it takes a LOT of effort to find our who posted what, but it’s still a concern.
Also, our update schedule probably wouldn’t change. People keep viewing this site as a message board, that should be updated live. The comments are the message board feature of this site. Our website isn’t set up like a message board, it’s a website. The confessions are a part of the website. The ENTIRE website is updated six times a day.
If you guys want more updates, you need to post more confessions :) Right now the schedule we have divides our average amount of confessions into easily updated groups. If the number increases we’ll be forced to change that equation.
Q:MODS Do you ever feel like you are baby sitting a bunch of whiny adults???
A: LOL!
Q:Mods, can you clarify what will get a person banned? Attacking another person? Would that mean using their name? Sometimes a comment or confession reminds me of somebody else in my life and I want to confess about that but now I'm too paranoid about it.
A: I mean an attack. Calling a user by a name, cussing at a user, writing things like “I’m glad you miscarried.” Attacks. If you’re talking about someone else in your life then the words my son, or my MIL, or something like that to clarify will be helpful.
